About

Black Celebration Honors

formerly known as Black Celebration Awards, is an annual awards ceremony honoring affluent individuals within 20 of todays biggest industries.

The creators of this prestigious awards created this platform to change the narrative, and destroying the notion that success in our community is cultivated solely through two industries: Entertainment & Sports. BLACK STREET believes we have much more to offer to the world, and have continued to contribute in momentous ways. This awards ceremony highlights this very truth, and thus Black Celebration Awards is birthed.

Originally, BCH consisted of nominations and competitive  voting process. Two finalist from each category are chosen to go to the awards ceremony where one is named winner. Among them would be celebrity or reknown individual(s) recognized for utilizing their platform to not only represent the Black community, but to also empower, educate, and uplift.

With a relaunch in 2017, the organization has changed the process a bit. Each category will have an Honoree chosen by the BCH Board of Directors for each category. These individuals, be it celebrities or elite individuals, have exemplified absolute excellence and dominance within their respective fields. Alongside the honorees, there will be a “People’s Choice” awards recipient chosen through a voting process overseen by the Board also for each category.

Black Celebration Honors has an annual attendance expectancy of 500+ guests. This event will be one of the most recognized Black Tie Affairs in the Black community! Honorees and guests will participate in a beautiful pre-ceremony cocktail reception, witness an esteemed awards ceremony, spectacular performances throughout the night, wonderful speakers, and most of all an event highlighting the Black community’s GREATNESS!

  1. I inquisitive of how you guys created your nominee ballots. I’m a Blogger for The Heat (On Line) http://www.theheatmag.com and I would like to know what it would take to get my name on the ballot? I think this is a great opportunity for those of us who are grinding daily to get the recognition that is needed but more so deserved! Thanks for putting this event together!

  2. I am also inquisitive as well on how the nominee ballots are produced. If nominations are still opened, I would like to nominate a minority online magazine called ‘Unheard Voices’ (www.unheard-voices.com) that I frequent often. They do a lot of community work and bring awareness to a lot of issues. I believe they would fit best under the category ‘news & journalism’. Check them out.

  3. I would like to put my name on the ballot. I am doing great things in our community as an educator. I am a NYC High School Teacher, have been featured on Microsoft’s Education blog Daily Edventures, am part of a research team for The College Board, and won NFTE Enterprising Educator of the Year for New York City for both 2010 and 2012. I would like to get my name on the ballot for Education since their is only one nominee.

  4. Good afternoon: I am trying to place my vote for a “TV & Film Nominee on The Black Celebration page. However, the response received is “Thank you, we have already counted your vote.” I was under the impression that I was allowed to cast my vote daily. I was doing so previous to today. I havn’t voted in over 24 hours, and I went to cast my vote today. That’s when I received the aforemetioned response. I’m not even allowed to see the voting results any longer. I need your assistance with this.
    Thank you! ~ John Francis
